OFS Platform Architecture
A decoupled, multi-tenant, cloud-native architecture engineered for strict tenant isolation, zero-downtime execution, and deterministic governance.
Clear Separation Between Design, Governance & Execution
Workloads running on the Runtime Platform do not depend on the authoring suite for ongoing transaction throughput.
Tier 1: Design-Time Authoring Environment (OFS Studio)
Visual composition, modeling, and workflow orchestration
Tier 2: Governance & Control Plane (OFS Control Plane)
Single source of truth, multi-tenant isolation, RBAC, and release signing
Tier 3: Runtime Execution Engine (OFS Runtime Platform)
High-concurrency application and integration workflow execution
Architectural Guarantees
Every layer in the OFS ecosystem obeys strict separation of concerns, eliminating the vulnerabilities and stability risks common in monolithic low-code systems.
Design-Time vs. Runtime Separation
A core architectural tenet of OFS is the strict separation between the authoring tier (OFS Studio), the governance tier (OFS Control Plane), and the execution tier (OFS Runtime Platform). Workloads running on the Runtime Platform do not depend on the availability of the Studio or Control Plane for ongoing transaction processing.
- OFS Studio produces declarative JSON/XML metadata artifacts that describe data models, business rules, visual interfaces, and integration flows.
- During deployment, the Control Plane validates, signs, and packages these artifacts into an immutable release bundle.
- The Runtime Platform receives the release bundle, hydrates internal execution graphs in memory, and handles live traffic independently.
Central Control Plane & Metadata Engine
The OFS Control Plane is the authoritative management backbone. It exposes authenticated REST APIs for project persistence, subscription entitlements, environment scoping, and release orchestration.
- Persists project definitions and workflow documents using enterprise relational storage as the single source of truth.
- Provides out-of-band policy evaluation so that administrative queries never degrade runtime data throughput.
- Maintains monotonic revision tracking on all project entities (projects, workflows, variables, and connection resources).
Multi-Tenant Isolation & Hierarchical Scope
Designed from the ground up for multi-entity enterprises and system integrators. The platform establishes strict server-side boundary validation across a 5-level hierarchy: Tenant → Subscription → Workspace → Domain → Project.
- Every API request is validated against the authenticated tenant context at the gateway layer before routing to business logic.
- Secrets and credentials are encrypted and namespaced by tenant; cross-tenant secret resolution attempts return explicit HTTP 403 Forbidden.
- Execution history, metrics, and deployment artifacts are strictly isolated by tenant ID at the database query level.
Comprehensive Application & Integration Lifecycle
OFS enforces a disciplined, repeatable software development lifecycle designed for enterprise reliability. Every workflow or application passes through defined progression stages.
- 1. Modeling: Design data schemas, business models, and visual workflows in OFS Studio.
- 2. Validation: Real-time static analysis verifies port connectivity, required fields, and schema compatibility.
- 3. Local Debugging: Test execution in isolated sandbox with simulated mock inputs and step-by-step telemetry.
Integration Runtime Architecture
The integration engine is built for demanding enterprise workloads requiring high availability, guaranteed data delivery, and sub-second transformation speeds across heterogeneous protocols.
- Starter Triggers: Events enter the runtime via REST endpoints, webhooks, timers, message consumer loops (Kafka, RabbitMQ, MQTT), or file pollers (SFTP).
- Process Pipeline: Workflows execute in discrete activities connected by deterministic control flow branches, parallel forks, and join barriers.
- Variable Scoping: Scoped nearest-first resolution hierarchy supporting component, container, flow, process, and system variables.
Enterprise Security & Credential Protection
Security in OFS is engineered into the architecture rather than added as a peripheral layer. Credential sanitization, least-privilege role scoping, and strict network isolation protect sensitive enterprise data.
- Sanitized Credential Referencing: Component nodes store secret references (e.g. secret:db_prod_password) rather than plain-text password strings.
- At runtime, the engine resolves secret values in memory using tenant-scoped keys and automatically scrubs values from logs and error traces.
- Role-Based Access Control: Granular permissions govern viewing, editing, deploying, and administering projects and workspaces.
Enterprise Trust & Data Protection Framework
OFS isolates tenant workloads by default. We build with strict zero-trust operational primitives rather than marketing buzzwords.
Zero Runtime Authoring Access
Design-time Studio has zero credentials or network paths into live transactional databases.
Tenant-Namespaced Secrets
Credentials and keys are isolated per tenant and unresolvable by unauthorized tenants.
Immutable Audit Trail
Every configuration change is logged with monotonic revision increment and user attribution.
Memory Sandboxing
Worker processes enforce memory caps and isolated execution scopes to prevent memory leaks.
Automatic Credential Sanitization
Runtime log engines automatically redact secret tokens, passwords, and sensitive keys.
Deterministic Release Artifacts
Immutable cryptographically hashed release packages ensure tamper-free deployments.
Compliance & Security Standards Policy
OFS implements enterprise security controls in its codebase and architecture. We do not make unsubstantiated external certification claims (such as ISO, SOC2, or PCI DSS badges) unless formal audit documentation is active and customer-verifiable under NDA.
